Renting a motorbike in Pattaya: what to prepare before you ride

Renting a motorbike in Pattaya is the cheapest and most convenient way to get around. A little preparation before you collect the bike goes a long way towards a trouble-free trip.

1. Your licence

Riders should hold a valid motorcycle licence. Visitors from abroad should carry an International Driving Permit (IDP) endorsed for motorcycles together with the licence from their home country. Police checkpoints are common in Pattaya, and riding without a valid licence carries a fine under Thai law.

2. Paperwork for the rental agreement

A national ID card or passport is normally all that is needed for the rental agreement. At our shop no credit card is required — booking is quick and straightforward.

3. Check the bike before you set off

We inspect every bike before handover, but it is still worth a second look of your own: tyre pressure, headlight and indicators, front and rear brakes. Taking a few photos of the bike before you ride is always a sensible habit.

4. Helmets are not optional

Thai law requires both the rider and the passenger to wear a helmet. We include a free helmet with every rental.

5. Insurance

All of our bikes carry first-class insurance covering every journey. If anything unexpected happens, call us straight away — we are available 24 hours a day.
